eTwinning NEDİR?

eTwinning MEB Yenilik ve Eğitim Teknolojileri Genel Müdürlüğü bünyesinde 2009 yılından bu yana yürütülen ve öğretmenlerin öğrencileriyle beraber yurt içi ve yurt dışındaki ortaklarıyla birlikte proje yaptıkları, kişisel ve

mesleki gelişimlerini arttırdıkları bir faaliyettir. eTwinning Faaliyeti, öğretmen ve öğrencilerin bilişim teknolojileri kullanımını geliştirerek onların yenilikçi öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerini kullanmalarını amaçlamaktadır.

What is eTwinning?

eTwinning is an activity carried out by the General Directorate of Innovation and Educational Technologies of the Ministry of National Education since 2009, in which teachers and their students make projects together

with their domestic and foreign partners and increase their personal and professional development. eTwinning activity aims to improve the use of information technologies by teachers and students and to enable them to

use innovative teaching methods and techniques.

NEDEN eTwinning?

eTwinning öğretmenlere meslektaşlarıyla iş birliği yapma, mesleki gelişim fırsatlarından faydalanma ve projeler kapsamında yapılan çalışmalarla ulusal veya uluslararası düzeyde tanınma fırsatı sağlar. eTwinning,

öğretmenlerin mesleki gelişimi için çeşitli ücretsiz yüz yüze ve çevrim içi eğitim imkanları sunar. Öğretmenler eTwinning aracılığıyla proje tabanlı ve web temelli bir pedagoji çerçevesinde öğrencilerini güncel bilgi ve

becerilerle donatarak onları hayata hazırlarlar. Bunun yanı sıra eTwinning ÖĞRENCİLER için de yeni öğrenme fırsatları sunmaktadır. eTwinning projesi yapan birçok öğretmenin görüşlerinden yola çıkarak, eTwinning’in

öğrencilere sağladığı faydalar şu şekilde özetlenebilir;

• Derse daha fazla motive olma,
• Başka okullardan veya ülkelerden akranları ile iletişim kurarak, farklı kültürleri tanıma,
• Yabancı dilde iletişim kurabilme,
• Web teknolojilerinin eğitim amacıyla da kullanabileceğini fark etme,
• Projede yer aldığı için derslere daha etkin katılma.

WHY eTwinning?

eTwinning provides teachers with the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues, to benefit from professional development opportunities and to be recognized nationally or internationally for work done within projects.

eTwinning offers a variety of free face-to-face and online training opportunities for teachers' professional development. Through eTwinning, teachers prepare their students for life by equipping them with up-to-date

knowledge and skills within a project-based and web-based pedagogy. In addition, eTwinning also offers new learning opportunities for STUDENTS. Based on the views of many teachers who are engaged in eTwinning

projects, the benefits of eTwinning for students can be summarized as follows;

• Becoming more motivated for the lesson,
• Getting to know different cultures by communicating with peers from other schools or countries,
• To be able to communicate in a foreign language,
• Realizing that web technologies can also be used for educational purposes,
• Participating more actively in the lessons because of taking part in the project.

eTwinning’in FAYDALARI

eTwinning’in faydaları ile ilgili olarak 2013 yılında Türkiye Ulusal Destek Servisi tarafından yapılan 770 öğretmenin katıldığı araştırma şu sonuçları ortaya koymuştur;

• Katılımcı öğretmenlerin %86,3’ü eTwinning projelerinin teknolojiyi kullanma becerilerini artırdığını,
• %89,5’i derslerde farklı öğrenim yöntemleri kullanmaya teşvik ettiğini,
• %91,5’u yabancı dillerinin gelişimine yardımcı olduğunu,
• %85,5’i bilgisayar kullanma becerilerini artırdığını,
• %94’ü iş birliği yapma becerilerini artırdığını,
• %90,3 iş motivasyonunu artırdığını,
• %90,9’u alanıyla ilgili bilgilerini güncellemesini sağladığını,
• %95’i yeni ve yaratıcı projeler üretmeye teşvik ettiğini belirtmiştir.

 Aynı araştırmada öğretmenlere eTwinning’in öğrencilerine olan etkisi de sorulmuştur; Öğretmenlerin yine büyük bir çoğunluğu eTwinning’in;

• Öğrencilerinin derslere daha aktif katılmasını sağladığını (%77,2)
• Katılan öğrenciler arasındaki iş birliğini artırdığını (%91)
• Öğrencileri sosyalleştirdiğini (%85,7)
• Yabancı dillerini geliştirdiğini (%92,6)
• Eleştirel düşünme becerilerini artırdığını (%77,2)
• Teknolojiyi kullanma becerilerini artırdığını (%87,4) belirtmişlerdir.

BENEFITS of eTwinning

Regarding the benefits of eTwinning, a survey of 770 teachers conducted by the Turkish National Support Service in 2013 revealed the following results;

• 3% of the participating teachers reported that eTwinning projects increased their ability to use technology,
• 5% encouraged to use different learning methods in lessons,
• 5% said it helped them improve their foreign language skills,
• 5% increase their ability to use computers,
• 94% increase their ability to collaborate,
• 3% increase work motivation,
• 9% of them update their knowledge about their field,
• 95% of the teachers stated that eTwinning encouraged them to produce new and creative projects.

In the same study, teachers were also asked about the impact of eTwinning on their students; again, the majority of teachers stated that eTwinning;

• eTwinning enables students to participate more actively in lessons (77,2%)
• Increased collaboration among participating students (91%)
• Socializes students (85.7%)
• Improved their foreign language skills (92.6%)
• Increased critical thinking skills (77.2%)
• They stated that it increased their ability to use technology (87.4%).
